Once Jin finally wakes, he finds himself hanging by chains from two pillars. Mere seconds after his victory, Jin is attacked by Heihachi's Tekken Force soldiers; he received multiple gunshot wounds.

He gave up the Mishima-Ryu fighting style, thanks to the dojo master's training, and mastered traditional karate. Jin's thoughts burned with the desire to destroy the evil Mishima bloodline, the bloodline of his grandfather, Heihachi Mishima, and his father, Kazuya. A once in a lifetime opportunity to exterminate the Mishima clan Summary of In-Game Events After fighting many opponents in the tournament, Jin was scheduled to fight with his father, Kazuya.

On his way to fight Kazuya, Jin encountered Tekken Force soldiers. Jin managed to take down a number of them but was outnumbered and eventually defeated. He was then taken prisoner by the soldiers. Kazuya was called the winner of their match by default and went on to fight Heihachi. After losing to Heihachi, Kazuya was led to Hon-Maru by him. After initially being suprised aat seeing Jin chained up, Kazuya's Devil took over him, and after briefly conversing with Heihachi, knocked Heihachi out with a laser.

Devil then attempted to take the Devil Gene from Jin, taunting him from within his mind as he did so. To Devil's dismay, Jin's devil tattoos appeared on his chest, but Jin did not transform, and neither was the Devil Gene drawn from his body. Devil speculated that it must be Jin's Kazama blood that was preventing the assimilation. As Devil was trying to understand this failure, Kazuya fought internally with him, and managed to seize back control, merging their power in the process.

Kazuya then tried to awaken his son. Ending Description While unconscious, Jin fought off visions of his father telling him to give in to his rage and anger. Upon finally awakening, and now bearing a chest tattoo and arm tattoos, Jin saw he was in chains inside Hon-Maru with his father. Breaking free, Jin swore to end everything by killing Kazuya. After Jin defeated Kazuya, Heihachi scoffed at his son's loss and promised to take the Devil's power for himself by killing Jin.

Jin also defeated Heihachi, and was now in a semi-transformed devil state, with his tattoos and wings visible. He drew back his fist to kill his grandfather, but suddenly stopped as he saw a vision of his mother.

He threw his grandfather to the floor and told him: "Thank my mother, Jun Kazama " before flying away. As he flew off, several black feathers fell to the ground, amongst which was a single white feather. Prologue Jin Kazama. A child of destiny. After fighting Kazuya and Heihachi, an evil spirit swelled within Jin. Awakened by an unknown voice, Jin looked around at a forest completely destroyed.

And he knew he was the one who did it. He was overwhelmed by an evil presence and lost consciousness. Jin woke to an unknown voice and saw a mountain forest, which appeared to have been ravaged by a giant tornado.

However, Jin had no doubt that he was responsible for the destruction. Upon returning to Yakushima, Jin was plagued by recurring nightmares.

Jin could feel the influence of the devil gene growing stronger. However, Jin's devil form took over him and as a devil he brutally injured Hwoarang, allowing him to progress.

Jin would later defeat Wang Jinrei , before finally triumphing over Jinpachi Mishima. Ending Description Jinpachi soon dissipates into nothing but sand. After Jinpachi's death, Jin is seen walking through the Mishima Zaibatsu's throne room before sitting on the throne and giving a sinister smile. He utilized his elite military unit, The Tekken Force, to carry out covert missions in order to engulf the world in chaos. By doing so, he rendered most countries' military power useless and seized control of energy resources, such as oil fields and space colonies.

With his newfound power, he declared independence and waged war against the rest of the world. The Mishima Zaibatsu swept through, taking over nation after nation. But as the war continued, new opposing forces slowly began making their presence known.

Jin learned that Kazuya Mishima was controlling the first and most powerful of the opposition, the G Corporation, from behind the scenes. When the G Corporation places a price on his head, Jin announces the King of Iron Fist Tournament 6, as if he had been waiting for the opportunity. Ending Description Arcade Jin successfully defeats Azazel and Kazuya, and once out of the temple, is welcomed by one of the Tekken Force helicopters with his bodyguard, Nina Williams aboard.

Suddenly, Nina is thrown from the aircraft by Heihachi, who had been commandeering the helicopter the entire time. Heihachi leaps out of the helicopter to commence a battle with Jin, telling him that he will return the Zaibatsu back to him.

Jin is victorious and escapes the collapsing temple on another of his Tekken Force helicopters and heads back to HQ. Aside from G Gorporation, Jin's other rival at this time comes from within his own company. However, in the Scenario Campaign mode, it is revealed that the war and tournament were set into play to fill the world with enough negative energy to make the physical form of the evil entity known as Azazel , because Jin and Kazuya are known as the " Two Evil Stars ".

Having been "defeated" by Lars Alexandersson, Jin explained to him why he started the war. He revealed that he heard Azazel in his mind, and that the demon was already awake but wanted Jin to help it gain a physical form. Believing that he could destroy the demon for good if he gave it a physical form, Jin decided to complete enough of the prophecy to allow Azazel to appear.

He then intended to lure Azazel out and kill it, saving the world from the Mishima devil bloodline in the process which was linked to Azazel's blood.

Jin knew that only someone with a Devil Gene could kill Azazel, and believed he could wipe out his own devil gene, the demon, and also topple many corrupt governments and corporations around the world in the process. Lars told Jin that he had already taken Azazel out, but Azazel rose again before them.

Jin then utilized his Devil's power and sacrificed himself to kill Azazel for good. After Jin defeated Azazel, Raven found Jin's body lying in the desert.

He still bore the Devil tattoo on his arm, showing that Azazel's demise has not freed him from the Devil Gene. Version 1 The leader of the Mishima Zaibatsu and the man who declared war on the world. Fighting the Devil inside him which gets stronger every day, he yearns to be rid of it once and for all.

When his battle is over at last, will he find hope, or despair? Since he was betrayed by his grandfather and teacher, Mishima Heihachi, he has hated the bad blood of the Mishima family and the devil blood within himself and burns with desire to destroy it.

After that, the war with G Corporation intensified. Jin fought against Azazel in some ruins in the Middle East, and now, no longer sure where he is, the Mishima Zaibatsu is falling in the absence of his leadership. Jin's sudden disappearance has left the Mishima Zaibatsu in a state of chaos, allowing his grandfather Heihachi to reclaim the company in his absence.

After his supposed sacrifice whilst defeating Azazel put him into a comatose state, his body was found by the UN and taken into their custody. Jin awakens in a UN helicopter, wrapped in a straight jacket, and destroys the helicopter with a devil laser.

Waking up in a weakened state, Jin walks aimlessly through the desert beneath the sandstorms of the Middle East. When UN Peacekeepers track him down Jin's eyes glow red, and he unleashes a devil beam into the sky, which sends the soldiers flying. Jin soon arrives in a market while clutching his right arm.

He seems disorientated and still weakened. UN soldiers again track him down, but Lars drived an armoured car into the Souq, gund down a number of Peacekeepers and rescues Jin. Lars carries Jin into his vehicle and drives away from their pursuers. Jin is later transported to a medical facility owned by Violet Systems to recover from his comatose state. However, Nina Williams , who has been forced to work for Heihachi, infiltrates the facility to recover Jin and take him back to the Mishima Zaibatsu.

The plan is foiled by Lee Chaolan , who flies Jin to safety and then remotely detonates the facility. Awakening from his coma after Heihachi has been killed by Kazuya, Jin approaches Lars, Lee and Alisa on a rooftop and agrees to help them take down Kazuya, who is still continuing the war despite his victory.

Jin says that he is now the only one who can stop his father due to the Devil's blood that runs through his veins, and he is prepared to destroy Kazuya and end the cursed Mishima bloodline once and for all. Jin made a cameo appearance as a child in Tekken: The Motion Picture. Asking his mother, Jun Kazama, if she can finish reading " the story from yesterday ", Jun answers, " Alright " and they soon walk home. Jin returns from Tekken 3 as a playable character in Tekken Tag Tournament.

He retains his move-set, but if Heihachi is selected as his partner, he will have access to a new Omen stance. Although Tekken Tag Tournament is non-canonical, it is still looked at as a refined version of Tekken 3. Jin is about to finish him with a single punch, only to have paused and dropped Kazuya's body back on the ground.

He is then seen with his hands shaking as he falls down to his knees. Jin appears as a playable character in the crossover game, Street Fighter X Tekken. His official tag partner is Ling Xiaoyu. Jin is referred to as "Pitch Black Wings" in his character description. This game is not canonical to the Tekken series. In his prologue, Jin hears the word of the Pandora crashing into the Antarctic and hears of its dark presence affecting people negatively across the globe.

Sensing a power that may retain the Devil Gene, he decides to find the box. Xiaoyu tries to reason Jin from going, as it may be too dangerous; Jin, however, is determined to go. Xiaoyu then decides to accompany him and protect him in case something bad happens. Determined, he sets out in order to better understand his Devil powers. For the Street Fighter characters in the arcade mode, Jin and Xiaoyu who have succumbed to the influence of Pandora appear as sub-boss rivals before fighting Ogre.

Easily Forgiven : To a degree. No telling if he still has to face consequences once everything is said and done, but he's also previously established that he's willing to get rid of himself.

Enemy Within : Constantly has to fight off the influence of his Devil Gene as he tries to rid himself of it as well as rid the world of it in general. Note that a vision of her is enough to stop him while he's transforming into his Devil form, no less from killing his grandfather back in his 4 ending. As he lets go of Heihachi, before flying away, he even says, "Thank my mother, Jun Kazama.

Fallen Hero : Like his father before him, Jin has gone from primary good guy of the series to the Big Bad of Tekken 6. While he turns out to be more of a Well-Intentioned Extremist compared to Heihachi and Kazuya , he ironically ends up becoming more of a menace than either of them ever were, with his plan to plunge the world into chaos to awaken Azazel resulting in the deaths of millions of innocents.

He also becomes increasingly cold and ruthless in his goals, a far cry from the noble hero he once was. He's also the penultimate opponent fought in that game's arcade mode. As Devil Jin, he serves as the penultimate opponent fought in Tekken 5's Arcade mode, except for a select few characters. Yes, he does that accidentally towards his own cousin , although neither are aware of how they're related to each other until 6. Good Wings, Evil Wings : As a human, you can strap white angel wings to Jin's back in Tekken 5 you can also give him a halo.

Gratuitous English : Thanks to Isshin Chiba , he speaks heavily-accented English to Hwoarang before he is fought as the latter's Final Boss in his story mode from 4. This was before he got proper English voice actors in other appearances. Hate Sink : He becomes this in-universe in 6 when he declares war through the Mishima Zaibatsu and is utterly reviled by many of the game's characters for this, which he was planning on.

Ultimately subverted when his true purpose of awaking Azazel was revealed. He's back to good at the end of 7 The Hero : Of 3 and 5 , judging by the end of 7 , he's set to return to this role when 8 rolls around. Heroic Bastard : Kazuya and Jun never married, and considering how twisted the Mishima family is, it might be for the better. He Who Fights Monsters : He even quotes the last part of Nietszche's passage "And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

Hell-Bent for Leather : His new Tekken 7 costume has him sporting an all-leather ensemble with spikes. Even his hood, which makes a triumphant return from Tekken 5 , is leather. Heroic Sacrifice : What he ultimately hopes to accomplish with the war he started in Tekken 6. His final act in Scenario Mode is the logical finalization of this. However, his survival in Tekken 7 affirms that it did not take. Hunk : In his debut, Jin is more of an athletic and lean guy, but that changes drastically since 4.

Iconic Sequel Character : Since debuting in Tekken 3 , he gets the lion's share of publicity for the series. Heihachi a character from the first game also gets a lot of promotion too, however. The only reason why Jin doesn't smash Kazuya's face in is because that would go against what Jun taught him. In Name Only : Not in terms of his characterization, but due to his fighting style.

In Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag Tournament , Jin played more or less the same as Kazuya with some of Jun's moves thrown in for good measure , but since Tekken 4 , he's instead used a more traditional style of karate. Depending on when you jumped into the series i. Via one of the cutscenes in 4 , one of the forms he uses is actually drawn straight from Kyokushin Karate.

In the Hood : Wears a hoodie in Tekken 4 and Tekken 5 as his alternate outfit. Nearly at the level of Clothes Make the Legend. Tekken 7 shows him wearing a different, darker hoodie. His Tekken 4 hoodie makes a comeback in 7 as a bonus for the PS4 version of the game.

Invincible Hero : He's won more Iron Fist tournaments than any other character. In 3 his debut , Paul defeated regular Ogre but Ogre's transformation into True Ogre meant the tournament could continue and Paul did not wait to fight True Ogre. Jin's arrival meant he was able to defeat True Ogre and be recognized as the official winner. He did not technically win the fourth tournament. Heihachi defeated Kazuya in the finals but this was because Kazuya and Jin were scheduled to fight in the seventh stage of the tournament.

However Jin was kidnapped prior to the battle, automatically advancing Kazuya to the finals to face his father. Jin later defeats both of them at the Hon-Maru compound but this was after the tournament had concluded. He advances through the fifth tournament normally but turns into Devil Jin after being nearly beaten by Hwoarang.

As Devil Jin, he defeats Jinpachi to become the official winner of the fifth tournament. He hosts the sixth tournament as Zaibatsu CEO but it's unclear when the tournament takes place since Scenario Campaign does not document the tournament and Jin's actions in Scenario Campaign appear to replace the tournament, canonically. That said the ending of Scenario Campaign appears to be canon in which he battles Azazel to hopefully accomplish a Mutual Kill.

Azazel is defeated but Jin remains alive and still possessing the curse of the Devil Gene by the end. This even crosses to other media. He is the protagonist of the live-action film so naturally he wins the tournament. But in Tekken: Blood Vengeance , he is merely a supporting character the protagonist is Xiaoyu , yet is ultimately the one who saves the day again. Involuntary Shapeshifting : He has much less control over the Devil Gene than his father, causing him to transform into Devil Jin unwillingly.

His first transformation is entirely involuntary, being a Death-Activated Superpower as a reaction to Heihachi shooting him. In 4 , he is forced by Kazuya to transform and seems to be in great pain throughout it, although remembering Jun snaps him back to reality.

Finally, at the end of 5 , he transforms in self-defense upon being defeated by Hwoarang and, unable to control it, curbstomps both the latter and Jinpachi as effortlessly.

It seems that sometime between 5 and 6 , he has mastered the Gene. Devil Jin's iconic quote now creeps to his human form, possibly signifying that Jin is aware of the bloodlust inside him. Finally, The Stinger of 7 's Story mode hints that he has finally, canonically, controlled it.

Believe it or not, this is also the same reason why Hwoarang can never get that one good rematch out of him. Jack-of-All-Stats : Jin was somewhat of a starter Mishima in his debut, but ever since Tekken 4 and other games onwards, he became more focused on very-safe-zoning pokes for a solid counter-hit game, very good mixups, and having a decent-to-great stance system with one of the best personal parries in the series. However, this costs him a decent combo game from both juggles and wall-carries , safe launchers until Tekken 7 and a decent mixup game from his wavedash save for his other tools; Jin himself even lacks a standard hit combo.

Jerk with a Heart of Gold : For all his noble intentions, he acts pretty aloof towards practically everyone around him. Late-Arrival Spoiler : Unless we're supposed to believe he's a ghost, Tekken 7 confirms he survived his ordeal in Scenario Campaign. As Kazuya is readded back in T4 , Jin's moveset is completely reworked and now he utilizes good ol' karate.

Manipulative Bastard : Sparks global conflict and earns the ire of much of the cast, including people he met in the previous tournaments just so he can destroy the Devil Gene once and for all. Man of Wealth and Taste : He wears an smart longcoat in his ending in Tekken 5 and throughout Tekken 6.

Anyone expecting him to do anything good with his new position of power would be proven dead wrong when he returns in 6. Fanservice : Has the perfect combination of Hunk and Pretty Boy along with a smooth, deep voice. No wonder Xiaoyu is so smitten. Specifically, he's tormented by visions of Kazuya telling him to give in to his hatred of him. Unfortunately, it's also shown that he ultimately failed to rid himself of his curse , as it turns out that the Devil Gene originated with his grandmother Kazumi, and not Azazel.

Perpetual Frowner : You can count how many times Jin smiles with one hand. There's also his ending in 4 , where he flashes a smile of relief after managing to refrain from killing Heihachi, and Hwoarang's ending in from the same game, where he openly smiles at Hwoarang's jokes and might actually laugh if the two of them aren't being targeted at by Tekken Force. That's all of them, so far. Power Incontinence : Initially at least, Jin cannot control his actions while in Devil form, basically becoming a superpowered rabid beast lashing out furious blows and Eye Beams at everyone and everything around him, until he passes out.

The fact that he transforms unwillingly, by extreme anger or when he sees himself threatened, and that both Kazuya and Heihachi are seeking him out and deliberately pressing his Berserk Buttons , doesn't help things either. Power of Trust : In Tekken 3 , but it doesn't end well. While Jun was the one to suggest that Jin find Heihachi if anything were to happen to her, Heihachi is only using Jin as bait for Ogre to further his own ambitions.

When Jin wins the tournament? Tekken Force members unceremoniously gun down Jin, Heihachi himself dealing the final headshot. Had it not been for Devil Jin's awakening, Jin would have died. Hence, his hatred for his paternal side of the family; Jin's T3 profile states that he specifically hates deception.
